OVERVIEW

The Shanghai Mathematics Symposium 2026, will take place in Shanghai from September 28 to 30, 2026. This event aims to establish a high-level international platform connecting leading mathematicians and interdisciplinary researchers, with a focus on fundamental research in mathematics, mathematics education reform, and emerging applications of mathematics across industries.

Main Mathematics Sessions

The Feishu Math Symposium, as with every year, brings together mathematicians across different fields of mathematics, with a special focus on a topic which changes from year to year. The math symposium of 2026, will host a special program in Optimal Transport organized by Prof. Jose Carrillo and Rob McCann, with a keynote presentation by Alessio Figalli.

Academic & Policy Dialogue

During the Symposium, both keynote speakers and other key participants will engage in in-depth academic and policy dialogues with leading universities, research institutes, and education authorities in Shanghai and other cities of China, exploring how mathematics can drive urban innovation and strategic talent development.
